Expo wishes to congratulate Bill Schmalz, organizer of the March 10 South Florida Seaplane Splash-In. The event recorded a huge turn out with 26 seaplanes as well as a helicopter joining the celebration. One attendee flew in from South Carolina to celebrate this special occasion.
The celebration takes place at the same site as the Seaplane Base during the U.S. Sport Aviation Expo, also organized by Bill Schmalz, Regional Director of Seaplane Pilots Association, and the host of the Seaplane Base.
Lake Jackson is a beautiful, spring fed, crystal clear lake, surrounded by a white sand and grass green shoreline. The Sunset Grille can park 100 plus planes right on their beach.
The Splash-In is held each March and November. For more details call Bill Schmalz at 561-414-6865 or visit www.seaplanes.org....

Expo saw big crowds the first three days in spite of the less than perfect weather. Visitors filled the educational forums, tried delicious fare from new food venders, had an opportunity to demo aircraft, see the Wings of Freedom Tour World War II planes, and much more.
Sunday, the last day of Expo, starts at 9 am and ends at 3 pm. Awards ceremonies commence at 2 pm and include the announcement of the iPad mini giveaway winner, Model Airplane Contest winners, recipient of the Seaplane Pilot Association scholarship award.
Tickets can still be purchased at the main entrance to attend on Sunday....
